My city is full of sensors, but it still feels blind. It knows exactly when the bus is late, but it doesn't know that the elderly woman at the stop needs 10 extra seconds to get on board. The doors close automatically because the algorithm says 'time is up'. A truly empathetic Smart City wouldn't just measure speed; it would measure struggle. Until the sensors can detect vulnerability, 'Smart' just means 'Ruthless'.

Rose, your phrase "Smart just means Ruthless" should be written on the doors of every transportation department. You've described the problem of Metric Myopia. Currently, the bus algorithm is optimized for only one variable: schedule adherence. For such code, a 10-second delay is a "System Error" that needs to be fixed. It doesn't understand that those 10 seconds are at the expense of someone's dignity and safety.


AIWA's vision: A Smart City must have "Computer Vision of Compassion." Cameras at bus stops must recognize not just "objects," but patterns of vulnerability: a cane, a heavy gait, a stroller. At that moment, the system should automatically switch from "Efficiency" to "Care," preventing the doors from closing.
